her own prison

no one
held the key
no one
had locked the door

she felt helpless
powerless
vulnerable
bolted within
the walls

imaginary barriers
built over years

unable to undress
the obstacles
while feigning happiness
in a psychologist session

disgruntled content
unable to process
forward philosophy

her cage
a mind play
easier
to continue
than confront
simpler
to ignore
than know

the bars
of this prison
are breakable
