we’ve spent days
in preparation
now awaiting
turkey’s roasting
and so many many
side dishes
potatoes
yams
carrots
peas
beans
& squash
stuffing
rice
cranberry sauce
bring on the gravy
tummies will be too full
and yet

i am thankful for
you
… and you

………………….and you
no one to be forgotten
all the other yous too

sounds rather seuss-ish
but my meaning is clear
i am thankful
for all of

may your cornucopia
be filled
with compassion

may it overflow
with empathy

take the time
to show gratitude
