it …………a collection
of mismatched
socks & shoes
a weird combination
of booze
the tv news
has nothing new
sleep an option
that would require
pop’n pills
drag yourself outside
it’s raining
so go cry
or not
man – oh – man
does there have
to be a plan
to everyday
do
dive inside
discover
1’s own clutter
propose a purpose
design a strategy
there is no dodging
do
do
the dishes
wash the floor
wipe the cobwebs
from the corners
clean with intensity
do
do
a cleansing
of the mind
wipe away
the dirt
grime
dust & muck
that got stuck
in cortex
taking up space
vacuum
to make room
do
do
take each moment
as it is presented
with no
anticipation
expectations
lead to disillusions
break the pattern
of waiting for
do
do
find comfort
in
the now
quest
to be
fully present
fully focused
motivate self
do
Hi Gwynneth, i left a long post and didnt notice the fields above ..pooof..lol try
This poem has touched me dearly, you see my dad and well my mom too both quoted the phase “Just Do IT” , long before it became as a logo..lol.
They were the most kindest, caring, generous, loving people. They set a great example. This poem is a huge part of who I am. Thank you for inspring others. Cathy <3
