my heart is heavy
for no other reason
than the weather
than an eclipse
then

i take a breath
the exhale
carries no weight
i meditate
to ease the poundage
yet
my ankles are anchored
freedom to fly
is within grasp
yet
finger tips away
the need ……
to lighten
my way
follow the path
of moonbeams
wandering
through darkness
and the web of forest trees
finding the route
to sunlit days

finally
to breathe once more
finally to see
beyond the shore
finally waking
to this day and more
