it is a time of reflection
of all things past
that made up
this last year

there might have some bad & uglies
but i’ll focus on the good

or trying to change
it is all the positive energies
we all retain

starting each day
with thoughts of love and care
ending each day
knowing you shared
a piece of you
in a smile
in a caress
in a world of angst
helping someone in distress

turning heads
with your inner light

letting your peacefulness ignite
each tomorrow
spreading joy
instead of sorrow

i will count my blessings
they might be somewhat different
than yours

i am blessed with each of you
who touch my life
you remind me each day
of the wondrous journey
we take
each and every day we wake

though we might not speak
for many days

i hold your friendships
near & dear
for our hearts are bound by trust

on this New Year’s Eve
