be bold

it doesn’t matter how long you’ve cried
how many tissues to dry your eyes
i can’t share your sorrow
if you don’t open your heart

countless hours and days may go by
spent in reclusion not willing to try
i can’t help you heal
if you won’t lean on me

hurt
anguish
pain
drain
your energy
leaving a void
of black
fight
battle
attack
your strength
takes hold

yes
be bold

i remember
i thought i lost control
the rock
that grounded
my soul

the sun did shine
the next day
and next
and tomorrow will again too

blue is the color of the sky
not of your heart or mind

sadness is ok
when gladness follows along

what is the song
that rings in your heart
i hear it
though you may not
for
it follows me
each time we part

yes
be bold
be brave
and fearless too

i will not wander
far from you
