a poet's playground

day after day

their lives didn’t meld
didn’t jell
they crashed
like the waves to the shore
sometimes
in a peaceful bliss
more often

the differences
divided them
their passions

lost
in a quagmire
that seems to suck
life out what once was
a beautiful day

perhaps
if placed in a blender
